Review: Upperworld

Upperworld: Shamanism and Magick of the Celestial Realms is the perfect follow-up to Chris Allaun’s previous works; Underworld: Shamanism, Myth & Magick and Deeper Into the Underworld: Death, Ancestors & Magical Rites. Throughout the book he guides the reader to the higher realms of reality. He  lays out the cosmological map to explore and experience the higher terrains, energies and beings whom reside there—along with those beings who have fallen from those great heights. Being both a Native American Pipe Carrier and a Traditional Witch, Allaun braids together diverse mythologies, cosmologies, folklore, shamanism, and magickal traditions, showing how they correlate and how they vary. Throughout the pages of this book he assists us in navigating the starry realms, the Qabala, and the creation myths of several ancient cultures, astral projection, trance and possession work.

I always enjoy Chris Allaun’s work. His writing is well researched, insightful, and immensely helpful to the spiritual seeker. Upperworld is absolutely no exception—creating a powerful trilogy of books for those looking to climb the World Tree from its deepest depths to its highest branches. This book is easy to read, digest, and practice—guiding the reader to experience the concepts and lore that he shares. Very few witchcraft books guide the reader to embrace the power of cosmic ascension without getting to “fluffy” or “flowery”, making this book a rare treat. I highly recommend this book as well as all of Allaun’s previous works.
