Review: The Morrigan

Review: The Morrigan December 17, 2019

In The Morrigan: Celtic Goddess of Magick and Might, Courtney Weber explores one of the most fascinating and complex deities: Ireland’s goddess of many names and many faces. Weber provides a cohesive and brilliant book full of solid historical research, personal experience, and practical application with ease and grace, while guiding the reader to connect and create their very own personal practice and relationship with this ancient goddess. She demystifies the complexity and often convoluted myths of a goddess that dates back to at least the Iron Age by presenting the information in the most organized, cohesive, and easy-to-follow manner I have come across.

The real gem of The Morrigan: Celtic Goddess of Magick and Might is that Courtney shows that the Morrigan isn’t just an ancient goddess, but a modern one that can heal, transform, and empower our lives in today’s age. The meditations and rituals Courtney provides are as brilliant as they are powerful. Sprinkled throughout the book are breakout boxes with the experiences that modern practitioners have had with the Morrigan, which were an equally interesting addition to this book. Whether you’re already a devotee of the Phantom Queen or you’ve found yourself recently drawn to her call, this is a book to be cherished.
